Call for NSF Research and Development Grants 2022

The National Science Foundation (NSF) is mandated to generate, disseminate and transfer knowledge ensuring its effective utilization for the greater benefit of the people of Sri Lanka. The R & D grant schemes seek to foster the formation of multi-disciplinary teams to conduct cutting-edge research and development projects that are of relevance to Sri Lanka and the society.

The NSF is calling applications for R & D grants under the following high-priority areas that ensure socioeconomic development of Sri Lanka:

1. Eco-friendly Agriculture
2. Food Quality and Safety
3. Post-harvest Management
4. Health and Indigenous Medicine
5. Biomedical Innovations
6. Climate Change
7. Disaster Management
8. Waste Management
9. Water Security
10. Energy Security
11. Value addition to Natural Resources
12. Community Development and Social Innovations
13. Management and Development Economics
14. Applications of Industry 4.0
15. Biotechnology

All grant applications should address high-priority national concerns and gaps in the existing knowledge leading to producing noteworthy results to enhance the well-being of people.

Competitive Research Grants (CRG): Multi-disciplinary research with inter-institutional collaborations will be given preference.
