Prof. Sunil Wimalawansa, Professor of Medicine, Endocrinology and Nutrition, Director of Cardio-Metabolic and Endocrine Institute, New Jersey, USA visited Prof. Ranjith Senaratne, Chairman of NSF on 13 August 2020 with a view to exploring possibilities for research collaboration. A fruitful discussion on immunity boosting and taking science to the community was held and he expressed interest for constructive engagement with NSF.
He has worked extensively on COVID-19 and has a wide network with Sri Lankan scientists abroad, particularly in North America and will contribute to enhancing medical research and scientific literacy in Sri Lanka.
