The National Science Foundation (NSF), functioning under the purview of the Ministry of Education, conducts its "Kid Naturalist" programme annually aimed at students in grades 1-6. The objective of this programme is to nurture children to investigate the environment they live in with scientific perspective and appreciation. Accordingly, the Kid Naturalist Programme 2024 was initiated in 1st of June 2024 and with a view to provide clear guidance, the NSF conducted a training programme for teachers and students who were registered to participate in the Kid Naturalist Programme 2024. The programme was conducted as an online webinar on 16th August 2024 at 2.00 p.m.. The Chairman of the NSF Working Committee, Dr Jayantha Wattevidanage and Head of the Science Communication and Outreach Division (SCOD) of the NSF were participated as the resource persons. The webinar was atended by 643 teachers and students where 154 joined the session via Zoom while 489 joined the programme via YouTube live streaming.
